How to go to Bac Lieu?

Traveling by plane

If you’re from the North and Central regions, consider taking a flight to save time on your journey. The nearest airport is Can Tho, offering daily flights from various locations across the country. From there, it’s just a quick 2-hour ride to the heart of Bac Lieu City. Another option is Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, but keep in mind it’ll take about 5 hours to reach Bac Lieu from there.

Traveling by motorcycle or car from Saigon

If you’re planning a trip from the heart of Saigon to Bac Lieu and you prefer to travel by yourself, the quickest way is to take the Trung Luong expressway and then follow National Highway 1A through Can Tho and Hau Giang. This route is smooth, with no ferries, so it’ll save you time despite the slightly longer distance. 

But guess what? Depending on your travel plans, you can also take a circular route through Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang (though it might take a bit longer due to ferry crossings). So, pick the route that suits you best and enjoy your journey to Bac Lieu!
