By 1975, all of the prisoners rose up to break out of their cages. They also formed groups with the help of the local militia to free Pleiku as well as the Central Highlands and get their freedom. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has made Pleiku Prison a historical relic and a tourist attraction to remember what the Vietnamese ancestors did and how they changed history. Here, the Relic Management Board has re-created the horrible ways that the two invading countries tortured their prisoners so that visitors can get the clearest picture of the war.
